The Doobie Brothers are celebrating their 50th anniversary with a stop tonight at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. And yes, Michael McDonald is along for the ride on this tour! They sounded fantastic a couple weeks back on the CNN 4th of July concert special. If you’re curious about what songs they do on this tour to see if it’s worth the ticket price, here are the songs they will likely perform in this order tonight.

  • Nobody

The band is celebrating their 50th anniversary on this tour so it’s only right they start with one from the very beginning.

  • Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)

The Doobies had a big hit with this one in 1975, but it’s actually a cover of a Kim Weston song from 10 years previous.

  • Here to Love You

Track 1 from Minute by Mintute released in 1978.

  • Dependin' on You

Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons wrote this one. But unlike previous singles by the band, Simmons takes the lead vocals on this one.

  • Rockin' Down the Highway

If the Amp crowd isn’t dancing yet, this song should get ’em up.

  • You Belong to Me

The first single from 1978’s “Boys in the Trees,” Carly Simon helped write this one.

  • Easy

Some new music from the Doobies released earlier this year.

  • South City Midnight Lady

A tribute to South Lake Tahoe.

  • Clear as the Driven Snow

Snow in Florida? There will be tonight.  Great track from 1973.

  • It Keeps You Runnin'

The 3rd single from Takin’ It to the Streets. This one was also covered and released as a single by Carly Simon.

  • Eyes of Silver

Back to the early days of the band for this one from What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits.

  • Better Days

One from their 2021 album Liberté.

  • Don't Ya Mess With Me

Some more new stuff before the band gets to the long set of big hits.

  • Real Love

The band was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for this one.

  • World Gone Crazy

Title track to the band’s 13th studio album released in 2010.

  • Minute by Minute

Back to the late 70s for this one from “Minute By Minute.” This one was nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year.

It lost… to The Doobie Brothers’ own “What a Fool Believes”.

  • Without You

One of the many hits from “The Captain and Me.”

  • Jesus Is Just Alright

First recorded in 1966 by the Art Reynolds Singers, the Doobies did it on their second album in 1972 after they heard the Byrds’ version.

  • What a Fool Believes

A song closely identified with the Doobies, but it was actually first a song for Kenny Loggins. The song scored Grammy Awards in 1980 for both Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

  • Long Train Runnin'

Fun fact about this one… it was covered by 80s girl group Banarama (the ones who did “Venus” and “Cruel Summer”).

  • China Grove

No this song is not about China Grove, Texas.  By the way don’t leave after this one.  3 songs to come in the encore!

  • Black Water

The band’s first #1 hit.  Garth Brooks even recorded his own version of this one.

  • Takin' It To The Streets

This one even has a cameo in the film “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”.

  • Listen to the Music

Finishing the night will be this one that was a call for world peace.  Still timely.
