Tampa has a pretty jumping standup comedy scene these days but it's not often we see names as big as Jerry Seinfeld. It was just announced this morning that Seinfeld will play a show in Tampa at the Hard Rock Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa on Thursday, September 28, at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the event are not cheap. But that's the case with many shows at the Hard Rock given its intimate size. Prices will start at $179. They'll go on sale Friday (June 23) at 10am via Ticketmaster.

It's crazy to think his career took off almost 40 years ago after an appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Here are of some of my favorite Jerry Seinfeld moments over the years.

#9: Coffee with Jim Gaffigan

Not many can make me laugh harder than Jim Gaffigan. Watching these two crack each other up is so awesome.

#8: Baby alligators...

Hopefully this will be part of his routine in Tampa. We Floridians love our alligators.

#7: Car buying...

Sorry Arby's fans.

#6: Marriage

Jerry on getting married late in life...

#5: Ferns

I love Between Two Ferns... so seeing Jerry and Zach together is really a treat.

#4: No Soup for You...

The most iconic moment in the show's history never gets old.

#3: An early Jerry classic...

Those darn escaped socks...

#2: Jerry and George ...

The perfect comedy duo.

#1: It wasn't supposed to be funny...

This seems like it could be a skit, but it wasn't.  I love funny when it's uncomfortable.  Larry King was apparently unaware of Jerry's success.
