Boy George and Culture Club come to Tampa July 15 for a night of awesome 80s Q105 hits July 15. It’s not just the Culture Club hits we have to look forward too. Howard Jones (“Things Can Only Get Better” and “No One Is To Blame”) and Berlin (“Take My Breath Away” and “No More Words”) will be on the bill too.

I asked Boy George what songs would be on an ultimate Boy George ’80s mix tape? Here were the 5 he came up with.

Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams"

George started his mix tape with no hesitation with this 80s Q105 favorite. And this music video was a staple during the early days of MTV.

Psychedelic Furs "Love My Way"

George clearly has a fondness for the music of the early 80s. This 1982 classic was featured in the movies "Valley Girl" and Adam Sandlers "The Wedding Singer." It's even made its way on to video games. like Grand Theft Auto.

David Bowie "Boys Keep Swinging"

This one technically is not actually an '80s song, but we're not going to correct Boy George. Bowie actually record a performance of this song for Saturday Night Live in 1979, but it was broadcast on January 5, 1980... so we'll count it as an '80s song George.

Furniture "Brilliant Mind"

George loves his new wave. This 1986 song might not ring a bell. It wasn't a big hit here in the U.S. But it was featured in the movie "Some Kind of Wonderful" in 1987.

The Cars "Drive"

Many will best remember this one from Live Aid in 1985. It was the biggest charting single for the band when it came out in 1984.
