New Professional Sports Team Coming To Tampa Bay
As far as professional sports teams go, the Tampa Bay area really has it made. The Buccaneers have a couple of Super Bowl Wins. The Tampa bay Lightning has 3 Stanley Cup Championships. Although the Tampa bay Rays haven’t won the World aeries yet, they have been to 2 of them and they are on fire this year. Remember The Tampa Bay Storm arena football team, they had a boatload of championships. Hey, they obviously don’t call us “CHAMPA BAY” for nothing.
Well, now a new Professional team is getting ready to call Tampa Bay home. According to the Patch, an all new professional women’s soccer team is getting ready to hit the pitch in August of 2024. The Tampa Bay Franchise of the USL Super League will bring the best women soccer players together. We think with the growing fanbase of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, this team will be a huge success. Although it has not been confirmed yet, we suspect that the new Tampa sports team will play at Al Lang Stadium in St. Pete.
“This is about inspiring, energizing and uniting our Tampa Bay community. We’re ready to build a team that not only wins on the field, but also makes a positive difference off the field. To us, success comes when you become part of the fabric of your community,” said Tampa developer Darryl Shaw, who joins David Laxer, co-owner of Bern’s Steak House, and Jeff Fox, former chief information officer of BluePearl Pet Hospital, as owners of the new team.
The USL Super League will Kick-Off in 2024. Other team cities include Dallas/Ft.Worth, Lexington, KY, Phoenix, Spokane, Tuscon, AZ, WashingtonDC and a team in the Carolinas.
Although the team doesn’t have a name yet. we are already fans.
