Famous West Coast Coffee Shop is Coming To Tampa Bay

What was once an espresso pushcart business on the West Coast in Oregon, is now setting it’s sights on the Sunshine State for their newest location. Is Dutch Bros Coffee opening in Tampa Bay? The famous drive thru Dutch Bros Coffee has plans to open its first Tampa Bay location in South Tampa.

According to recently filed permit plans through the city of Tampa’s permit site, The proposed Dutch Bros coffee opening in Tampa would be occupying a 950 square-foot drive thru location. They filed for the rezoning and re-construction plans at 3616 W Ballast point Blvd.

The proposed Dutch Bros Coffee location would replace the Baywash Car Wash that currently sits at the location. You can find nearly a dozen car washes in the Tampa Bay area within a few miles so it wouldn’t be missed.

Tampa’s first proposed Dutch Bros coffee would differ slightly from many of the other locations. Many of them have minimal in store seating, but for this plan, there would be no in store seating. This location would be set to serve through drive thru only.

Dutch Bros coffee isn’t just your typical one stop coffee shop. It has a massive menu with many different options. They have seasonal drinks, cold brews and hot coffees, energy drinks, teas, smoothies and more. They have 36 different flavors of energy mixes and many of them come in sugar free options as well. One of the fan favorite energy drinks is Electric Berry. This is a combo of lime and blue raspberry and is mixed with their very own Rebel™ Energy Drink.

If you’re a cold brew lover they have their iced white mocha. This is a white chocolate mocha combo that blends their cold brew and white chocolate sauce with their proprietary chocolate milk for an original blend. You can also get this combo in the toasted hot option.

Dutch Bros originally started serving the community of Grant’s Pass, Oregon in 1992 and have since opened up over 800 stores since they started to franchise in 2000. In 2016, the “Broistas” (the baristas at Dutch Bros) went viral on the internet for their high level of customer service and their good vibes. 

In 2021, Dutch Bros broke into the southeast bringing locations to Texas and Oklahoma.
