Tampa Theatre Stages Will Have Big Screen Performances
Theaters are getting very creative with their performances this spring. In fact, some of them will put on shows that were fan-favorites on the big screen and Netflix. At a Tampa Theatre near you, there will be a “Broadway” rendition of Mrs. Doubtfire and a Stranger Things themed musical called Stranger Sings!.
Starting later this month, entertainment fans and theater enthusiasts alike will have the chance to catch one or both of these performances in Tampa. Here are the details you need to know about.
Mrs. Doubtfire At Morsani Hall
The Straz Center is behind both of these fun shows. From April 2 to April 7 Mrs. Doubtfire will take to the Morsani Hall stage.
“Rob McClure will reprise his Tony®-nominated Broadway performance on tour alongside co-star (and real wife!) Maggie Lakis in this internationally acclaimed hit musical critics call “wonderful, heart-warming, and laugh-out-loud funny,” the Straz Center says. In total there will be eight performances here. This includes two on Saturday April 6 and two on Sunday April 7. Tickets start at $47.75.
Stranger Sings! Comes To Tampa At The Jaeb Theatre
Billed as a parody musical, Stranger Sings! is described as “a hilarious “upside down” take on the hit Netflix series – and all its campy 1980s glory.” This fun show will run for almost an entire month. It starts on March 26 and runs through April 21. Often, weekends will also feature two shows per day with a matinée performance and an evening rendition.
Adding to the fun of this unique show, the Straz Center explains, “This production is built “in the round,” providing a uniquely immersive experience with 360-degree seating and limited VIP bean bag seats inclusive of a themed party pack!”
Tickets for Stanger Sings! the musical start at $37.
Other Straz Center shows to have on your radar this spring include Jesus Christ Superstar and Girl From The North Country this month. Peter Pan and The Smuggler then start in May.
3 Tampa Cigar Bars You Need To Know About
In a market overview report by Straits Research, it was reported that the cigar industry is projected to reach USD 114,355.50 million by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 11.90% during the forecast period (2022-2030). Currently, there are dozens of locations in the greater Tampa area where you can go to purchase an authentic cigar. We have put together a list of Tampa area cigar bars you need to know about.
As we roll into summer, people tend to have more time to seek out a lounge-style atmosphere. A local cigar bar can serve as a destination gathering or as your nightcap spot to wind down. Holt’s Clubhouse describes the setting as, “The best cigar bars are outfitted with a powerful air purification system, meaning your spouse or non-cigar-smoking friends won’t mind hanging out with you while you smoke. This is the ultimate environment to enjoy a cigar.”
Furthermore, it is not uncommon to find cigar bars offering more than their smokes. Whether it’s a dining experience or entertainment, there’s reason to stay at the establishment longer than the duration of a smoke.
Do Your Cigar Homework
Though many local cigar bars welcome a walk-in experience, it is best to know in advance what you are getting yourself into. With regulations, as you can imagine, there are restrictions to blowing smoke in a public space. In addition, Holt’s Clubhouse also has a great list of etiquettes to be aware of. This includes the proper way to cut your cigar, how to control your mouth, and a few other common courtesies.
