Before we get to the list, let’s talk about the criteria that were taken into consideration in the development of this list on Square Foot Homes. Of course, family-friendly coincides with education for children, so excellent schools is a top factor. Safety is also a concern. And what about activities and recreation for kids and families? That’s a big factor, too.
In Florida, you will find a variety of people, terrain, vibes and culture. But the cities on this list have one thing in common. They have neighborhoods that are very family-friendly.
The top four cities on the list are as follows: North Miami Beach, Altamonte Springs, Winter Garden and Coral Gables. So you see South Florida cities showing up in the list. We know South Florida housing prices are incredibly high. So it’s nice to see the fifth city on the list: Palm Harbor.
What Makes Palm Harbor A Family-Friendly Neighborhood in Florida?
I grew up in Palm Harbor and can completely understand why it cracked the list of top five family-friendly neighborhoods in Florida. I attended Palm Harbor Middle School, which is a highly rated school, as is Palm Harbor University.
There’s plenty of nature to enjoy with the whole family in Palm Harbor. Visit beautiful John Chestnut Sr. Park. Or you can go to the Primate Sanctuary. Palm Harbor is close to Ozona, which has a fun marina where you can swim in the pool. You can also dine at Ozona Blue. Palm Harbor is also close to Caladesi Island. Along with outdoor enjoyment, you’ll find a handful of family-friendly dining spots or coffee places. Kids (and adults) love ice cream! Strachan’s is always a hit! They have locations in Palm Harbor and Dunedin. As far as family-friendly neighborhoods in Florida go, Palm Harbor is an affordable option.
