Your Child’s Access To Vaping
Do you realize how easy it is for your child to get “vaping” paraphernalia?
It’s shocking, but true! Minors in the Tampa Bay area are able to buy vaping cigarettes at any convenience store.
These sweet and “supposedly” harmless” cigarettes are anything but. This is not the innocent passing fad you may think it is.
The FDA issued a warning on Wednesday that teen vaping has reached epidemic proportions and must be addressed. In response, it has issued warnings to the makers and sellers of the most popular devices, giving them only 60 days to prove they can keep their devices away from minors.
Federal law prohibits the sale of theses products to anyone under the age of 18, however that has not stopped many retailers such as Walgreens, Seven-11’s, Circle K Stores and Shell Gas stations. Every one of those retailers have been issued warnings. But what about the small “Mom and Pop’s”?
FDA commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, has said that more than 2 million high school and even middle school children were “regular” users last year. The danger being that these flavored liquid cigarettes still do contain high amounts of nicotine, and is extremely damaging to the very vulnerable and still developing brain of an adolescent.
Don’t let your child become one of the statistics. Be aware of the easy access your child has to this harmful habit.
