Should You Tip Your Flight Attendant? (VIDEO)
Seems we reside in a society that has an awful lot of service workers whom we are expected to tip. While we are used to it, this is not the norm in other countries. In fact, people in other countries often think its crazy how many different people we are supposed to tip here. Well get ready because that list just got longer.
Frontier Airlines just announced that their flight attendants are now allowed to accept tips. The tips are optional, but you will be able (and I suspect expected) to add one on when you pay for drink or a snack. But SHOULD you?
The flight attendants union actually says they’re apposed to this policy, and say instead the airlines should pay higher salaries so tips aren’t necessary. I have to agree. With the cost of airline tickets rising, while the services and free food diminishes, shouldn’t the airlines pay the difference? I think so.
Right now the average flight attendant salary is $50,500 per yr. And I’m sure that includes all the free travel. So I’m not sure I’ll be inclined to be tipping much. How about you?
