Publix Announces Expansion Into New State
It’s official, Publix will be making its way into new territory.
According to Tampa Bay Business Journal, Publix Super Markets will be opening its first store in Kentucky. The popular Florida-based grocery store announced on Tuesday that it has officially signed a lease for a store just over 55,000 square feet in Louisville, Kentucky.
WLKY reports that the store will open in late 2023. It will also be home to the first Publix Liquors outside of Florida.
Publix is currently located in 7 states across the southeast United States. Kentucky will be the 8th state in just the next few years.
