Beagle Adopted By Treasure Island Fire Rescue

A beagle is the newest member of the Treasure Island Fire Rescue. He’s a rescue that was adopted by the agency.

A Virginia based research facility was forced to give up 4,000 dogs. Various animal rescue organizations across the country have put the dogs up for adoption. Fifteen came to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Treasure Island Fire Rescue adopted an 8-month-old beagle. They named him ‘Captain’. He’ll join the TIFR at Station 24 as a station dog.

According to a tweet from Treasure Island, “He is 8 months old, loves belly rubs and has giant adorable floppy ears.” As the newest member of Station 24, Captain will be a therapy dog.

According to Fox 13, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also adopted one of the beagles. Theirs came through The Beagle Freedom Project. They adopted a 7-year-old beagle named Mama Mia.

Florida’s ‘Tool-Time Sales Tax Holiday’ is the next sales tax holiday is coming up. Here’s what you need to know about when and what qualifies.

First, you need to know when the tax holiday takes place. The Tool-Time Sales Tax Holiday begins Saturday, September 3. It ends on Saturday, September 9.

This is a new Tax Holiday. It joins the back-to-school and hurricane preparedness tax holidays. It’s intent is to help in the purchase of tools commonly used by skilled trade workers. However, anyone can purchase qualifying items tax free during the tax holiday.

Qualifying items can be purchased in brick and mortar stores, online, through mail order and via catalog during the tax holiday. Online orders must be made during the tax holiday for immediate shipment, even if the delivery is made after the tax holiday period.

Now, what qualifies for the tax holiday? Here’s a list of items that you can purchase tax-free during the tax holiday.

    Selling for $300 or less

  • Power Tools

    Selling for $300 or less

  • Work Boots

    Selling for $175 or less

  • Power Tool Batteries

    Selling for $150 or less

  • Handheld Pipe Cutters, Drain Opening Tools And Plumbing Inspection Equipment

    Selling for $150 or less

  • Industry Textbooks And Code Books

    Selling for $125 or less

  • Tool Belts

    Selling for $100 or less

  • Electrical Voltage And Testing Equipment

    Selling for $100 or less

  • Shop Lights

    Selling for $100 or less

  • Toolboxes

    Selling for $75 or less

  • Hand Tools

    Selling for $50 or less

  • Safety Glasses

    Selling for $50 or less per pair (or the equivalent if sold in sets of more than one pair)

  • Protective Coveralls
