This Florida Town is Worst in America for Work-at-Home Opportunities
While some people like the energy and excitement of being in an office and working around other people, others prefer to work at home alone. When working at home became the norm during the pandemic, a lot of workers decided they wanted to keep things that way.
Now, CNBC is highlighting one Florida city as the worst for finding a work-from-home job in the entire country. “It’s been more than three years since the global pandemic sent workers accustomed to five-day, in-person work weeks away from offices,” CNBC states in the story. “Many desk workers are still working from home for at least some of the week. That’s because remote and hybrid work models originally adopted as a short-term solution have shown staying power, even with the global public health emergency officially declared over.”
The Best and Worst Cities in America for Work-At-Home Opportunities
Before we get to the worst, let’s look at the best. Which city is the best in America for at-home work opportunities? Lansing, Michigan, is No. 1, with a reported 30.8% of job listings stating that they offer at least one day of remote work. That’s a bit higher than the next spot on the list, Reston, Virginia, which has about 28.3% of job listings stating that they offer at least one day of remote work. Regarding the city, CNBC states, “Lansing, Michigan may never be the same. The city of just over 110,000 residents, known for its towering state capitol building, large convention center and proximity to college campuses, is trying to reshape itself for a post-Covid world.”
So, what city is the worst? Bradenton, Florida. Yep. For that area, the percentage of job listings that offer at least one day of remote work is just 1.8%. So low! Largo, Florida is the second worst, by the way. Read the full story here. Find work-from-home opportunities below.
