While summer vacations are synonymous with family trips, that doesn’t mean couples aren’t looking for a getaway too. Trips To Discover published a feature to help you plan where to go for a more romantic trip. In this list of the fifteen best summer vacation spots for couples, two Florida destinations made the cut.

“Traveling with the one you love can be a great way to reignite the spark of romance or to simply make memories together,” Trips To Discover says, introducing their selections. Furthermore, each suggestion offers quieter accommodations if you want a more secluded and peaceful retreat.

Here are the best Florida summer vacation spots for couples.

Key West

As this list points out, the breeze off the water helps keep Key West comfortable during the summer months. If you are looking for adventurous fishing excursions, water sports, and tiki bars, those are always at your disposal.  If quiet and relaxation are more your speed, there are private boat cruises, museums, and national parks throughout the area. Furthermore, TripAdvisor lists Ocean Edge Resort and Marina as the most romantic hotel in Key West.

Amelia Island

Off the northern part of the state, nestled into the Atlantic, Amelia Island is well-known for its charm. There are 13 miles of spacious beaches along clear waters. This Sunshine State hideaway area also has a wide range of cuisine options, from authentic Cuban food to decadent Sushi options. Summer in Florida may not be the highest season for tourist travel, but the quieter months can be the perfect time to take advantage of what the state offers as a best vacation place for couples.

Summer is here, and it’s going to be hot, as always, in Florida. Florida beaches are very popular and fun. But, they can also get crowded. Thankfully, there are some “secret” beaches that are kind of more difficult to find.

If you’re looking for some “secret” places to get your beach on in Florida, the crew at Family Destinations Guide has done the research to find you those spots. “We surveyed 3,000 families in the United States to determine the hidden beaches they most want to visit in summer 2023,” they state in the study.

As it turns out, Florida has four of the top 10 “secret beaches” in America, according to this study. That means they shouldn’t be too overcrowded. That’s a great thing.

A 1,828-acre archipelago at the mouth of Tampa Bay off Florida's Gulf Coast, Shell Key Preserve is frequented primarily by birds and other wildlife. For people to get there, they must take a boat to Shell Key, the biggest piece of dry land in the preserve.
