Station House BBQ is just down the road from home, so it’s natural that I’m going to have some favorites! Here’s what I choose from when I have that BBQ craving.

The restaurant is on Florida Avenue in Lutz. Opened by Anthony and Allison Fonseca, it’s quickly become one of the most loved bbq restaurants in the area. Anthony, a firefighter and Allison, a teacher, joined up with Joshua Paul and turned their side-business into a success. They also give back to their community, especially for first responders.

They were also featured on Good Morning America. That’s some nice national exposure, but we have them all to ourselves in the Tampa area!

Now, back to the food. Here are my five favorite items from Station House BBQ:

• The Station 40

  This is a tasty combination of flavors. The Station 40 is made up of pulled pork and chopped brisket… then, add the “Not Yo’ Mama’s slaw,” smoked gouda cheese sauce, bacon, jam and their special Station 40 sauce and served on a toasted kaiser bun.

• Rack of Ribs

  There’s no going wrong with another bbq standard: a rack of ribs!

  -If you like sausage, the ‘Hog Tower’
  -If you like spicy foods, the ‘Tampa Hot’ chicken sandwich

  It’s always tough for me to decide!
