Snooty, The Oldest Manatee In Captivity, Dies After His 69th Birthday
Snooty, the oldest living manatee in captivity, celebrated his 69th birthday on Saturday at the South Florida Muesum, and on Sunday, sadly, Snooty died.
Somehow, an access panel door had been knocked loose and Snooty swam into an area used for the plumbing system. The Aquarium will investigate how that happened, and it will remain closed as the staff has an opportunity to grieve.
