The wild and crazy guy’s birthday is today, August 14th!

Steve Martin is more than just wild and crazy. He’s funny, but he’s also an accomplished musician. He has won five Grammys, and three of them are for his bluegrass songs. He’s also won an honorary Academy award “in recognition of his extraordinary talents and the unique inspiration he has brought to the art of motion pictures.”

Martin’s comedic writing dates back to The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, where he was a writer
dating back to 1967. He also worked on his stand-up performances, and eventually became one of the most well-known performers on TV.

He is also known for his song “King Tut,” which was a top 20 single.
