Water Your Real Christmas Tree! Dry Trees Are A Fire Hazard!
In a video posted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Christmas trees were used to demonstrate how they react to flames when they’re either watered or not.
Christmas trees can take in up to a gallon of water each day, and it’s important to keep that water coming. A dry Christmas tree exposed to flame can turn into a fireball in less than 10 seconds. A tree with moisture in it will smolder, but it gives enough time for a chance to stop a fire from starting.
Watch the video below. Then, remember to water your tree!
