Another West Coast Burger Chain Is Coming To St. Pete
Slow down. It’s not In-N-Out. 🙂
St. Pete Rising reports another burger chain is coming to Tampa Bay. They say “Hopdoddy Burger Bar” will set up shop at 670 Central Avenue downtown St. Pete. The chain is best known for hormone and antibiotic free burgers, hand-cut fries and thick shakes. Expected opening date is early 2020. Although it’s a chain, it’s definitely not a typical fast food joint. The burgers are on the pricier side. The one in Orlando offers the Bison Pimento burger with Bison, Hickory Smoked Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Southwest Cream Cheese, Jalapeno Hush Puppies, and Pimento Relish for about $10. The chain got its start in Texas and spread west to California. Now it’s moving into Florida. The Orlando location seems to be doing well… they’ve got a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Yelp. They also have meatless burgers, which stills seems impossible to me.
We’ll see if they can do battle with St. Pete’s best burgers like legendary local favorite El Cap or my favorite Engine No 9 (seen in the photo above). Here are some shots from cell phones people have posted from Hopdoddy locations around the country. Gotta say it looks good.
