With Guns Drawn, Cops In St. Pete Pull Over Car Reported As Stolen… One Problem
But there was one big problem. The driver was the owner.
If you ever report a car stolen, learn from this poor guy. Be careful and make sure records get updated. Channel 8 reports it was all a misunderstanding. On August 7, the car WAS reported stolen at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa. On August 8, they recovered the car. So when the car’s owner was riding in St. Pete, the driver was understandably confused and frightened when police pulled him over with guns pulled. Apparently there was some miscommunication between the departments and a “be on the lookout” was still in place for the vehicle. Fortunately the officers involved were patient and did their jobs well.
