Hall & Oates and Cher Tampa Concerts Postponed

It seemed inevitable, but since it has been so long since we’ve had any concert cancellations, I was starting to think this one might happen next month. It won’t. The Hall & Oates concert scheduled for August 15 at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa has been moved. The new date is September 20, 2021. All tickets will be honored for the new rescheduled date. If you are a ticket holder and for some reason cannot make the new show, you will receive an email directly allowing you to request a refund. Keep an eye on the date though – often there is a limited window to request a refund.

According to the Amalie Arena website, Cher has also decided to postpone her tour. No new date for that show has been announced. Cher says on the Amalie site, “It breaks my heart to have to postpone our shows. I will be back on stage as soon as we know it is completely safe for everybody to come together and have fun again.”

That leaves only one show left on our Q105 calendar for 2020. That would be Jimmy Buffett at Amalie Arena in December. Will it actually happen? Time will tell!

  Originally the concert was just postponed, but on July 29, the band announced their new 2021 dates and Florida is not on the list.

• September 20, 2021: Daryl Hall & John Oates

  It'll be a big night of familiar Q105 classics at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.
• August 21: Journey & The Pretenders at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa (CANCELLED)

  On May 4, the band announced they have cancelled their summer tour.

• February 16: Rod Stewart

  A rare chance to see an intimate performance with Rod at the Hard Rock Event Center in Tampa. The last time Rod played the room, he walked out on stage and saw the small audience and jokingly asked if he was getting his normal fee.

• August 27: Santana with Earth, Wind & Fire

  This is the rescheduled date for the show that was originally scheduled for August 2020 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.
• September 5: Foreigner at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater (CANCELLED)

  Unfortunately, the Juke Box Heroes Tour was called off May 19.

  The concert was originally set for March 26. Cher hoped to reschedule, but given the uncertainty of how long we'll be dealing with coronavirus, she has decided to cancel the show so fans can get refunds.

• June 21: Backstreet Boys

  The Bucs' biggest fan Nick Carter is bringing his Backstreet Boys home to Tampa for a show at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

• December 4: Jimmy Buffett

  If you've been to a Buffett show, you know the real show isn't on stage, it's in the crowd. This will be the 3rd attempt at making this concert happened. Jimmy had shoulder surgery that postponed the concert in 2019. Then our friend COVID-19 meant a postponement of the rescheduled 2020 concert at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

• June 18 & 19: Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett

  Miami's show will be on June 18. The next night the tour comes to Orlando. Then the tour moves north but comes back to Florida for a show in Jacksonville on July 2. Unfortunately still no word of any Tampa dates for the tour.

  This rescheduled show will be without Rick Springfield. The show will be at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

  If you missed them in Tampa, you have one more chance to see the Rolling Stones when the Hackney Diamonds '24 tour comes to Camping World Stadium in Orlando. And if you miss this show, you'll have to catch them on one of their future tours over the next few decades... because even though the show is sponsored by AARP, the Stones show no signs of slowing down.
