Mazzaro’s Second Location In St. Pete Has Opened
It’s my home away from home. My family in Maine has an Italian foods store. Whenever I walk into Mazzaro’s in St. Pete, the smells of grated cheese, wine, pastries, and olives takes me back to my childhood when I’d stock the shelves at my family’s store. It amazes (and even angers me) when someone who’s lived here all their life tells me they’ve never been to Mazzaro’s. It’s a foodie paradise. There’s a big wine room. There’s a cheese room. There’s a bakery. There’s fresh pasta. And they have my favorite sandwich in all of Florida: the #20 Hot Italian.
Well now you can get a little bit of Italian goodness before your next flight at St. Pete-Clearwater Airport. No, not Tampa International. This is part of the update happening at PIE. By the way, have you been inside lately? I went in this past weekend to rent a car and my jaw dropped. It looks like a real airport now! I remember when it was kind of a glorified bus station.
Anyway, Mazzaro’s at St. Pete – Clearwater Airport has hot and cold sandwiches, wine and flat breads just outside gates 7-11, according to ILoveTheBurg.com.
