The 3 Song Lyrics Geno Always Got Wrong Before the Internet

Did you hear about Billy Joel’s expose about the trouble with toilet paper or Jimmy Buffett’s tragic breakfast pastry injury? Probably not because they were lyrics I always had wrong.

Being a DJ, you’d think I’m better aware of the songs we play on Q105 and their meaning. Not so much. Before the internet made it so easy to look up lyrics, here were the 3 songs I botched. What are the song lyrics that you always misheard? Tweet me @Q105Geno and I’ll include it below.

  Of course after working for Q105 this long, now I know Jimmy's heel injury was from stepping on a pop top. I always wondered how sharp the edges were on that Pop Tart to cause such trauma.

  Ok, make sure the kids aren't reading first. I KNEW this wasn't the lyric, but to me the chorus always sounded like "Keep on where the porn stars go."

  Even as your host of the Saturday Night Dance Party on Q105, I still didn't know Michael was actually singing "Keep on with the force don't stop" until I Googled it recently. There is no shout out to the world of adult film making anywhere in the song.

Q105 Concert Calendar

Here’s a look at some upcoming Q105 concerts here in the Tampa Bay area along with a few we think are worth a road trip!

• September 5: Foreigner at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater (CANCELLED)

  Unfortunately, the Juke Box Heroes Tour was called off May 19.

• Cancelled: Cher

  Share

  The concert was originally set for March 26. Cher hoped to reschedule, but given the uncertainty of how long we'll be dealing with coronavirus, she has decided to cancel the show so fans can get refunds.

• December 4: Jimmy Buffett

  Share

  If you've been to a Buffett show, you know the real show isn't on stage, it's in the crowd. This will be the 3rd attempt at making this concert happened. Jimmy had shoulder surgery that postponed the concert in 2019. Then our friend COVID-19 meant a postponement of the rescheduled 2020 concert at Amalie Arena in Tampa.
• June 21: Backstreet Boys

  The Bucs' biggest fan Nick Carter is bringing his Backstreet Boys home to Tampa for a show at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

• June 18 & 19: Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett

  Miami's show will be on June 18. The next night the tour comes to Orlando. Then the tour moves north but comes back to Florida for a show in Jacksonville on July 2. Unfortunately still no word of any Tampa dates for the tour.
• July 2, 2021: Chicago

  This rescheduled show will be without Rick Springfield. The show will be at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

• July 20: The Doobie Brothers

• July 8: Matchbox 20

  Rescheduled date at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. This show was originally scheduled back in 2020!
• February 16: Rod Stewart

  A rare chance to see an intimate performance with Rod at the Hard Rock Event Center in Tampa. The last time Rod played the room, he walked out on stage and saw the small audience and jokingly asked if he was getting his normal fee.

• August 17, 2021: Alanis Morissette

  Figured you oughta know that the show has been postponed until August 17, 2021 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

• August 27: Santana with Earth, Wind & Fire

  This is the rescheduled date for the show that was originally scheduled for August 2020 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.
• September 20, 2021: Daryl Hall & John Oates

  It'll be a big night of familiar Q105 classics at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

• September 24, 2021: Maroon 5

  Adam Levine is back on the road with the band. Meghan Trainor opens at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

• October 30, 2021: Enrique Iglesias

  This is a rescheduled date. Ricky Martin ("La Vida Loca") co-headlines this one at the Amway Center in Orlando.
• April 24: Elton John

  A rescheduled performance date for Amalie Arena.

• June 3: The Rolling Stones

  If you missed them in Tampa, you have one more chance to see the Rolling Stones when the Hackney Diamonds '24 tour comes to Camping World Stadium in Orlando. And if you miss this show, you'll have to catch them on one of their future tours over the next few decades... because even though the show is sponsored by AARP, the Stones show no signs of slowing down.
