4 Tampa Bay Locations Where You Can Cut Your Own Christmas Tree
It’s such a fun and unique experience to be able to pick out and cut down your Christmas tree. For many families it’s an annual tradition that starts the holiday season. Even though December is flying by, it’s not too late to head to one of these locations to bring home your Christmas tree. At most places, there’s even more to do than tree hunting. A few places have petting zoos, farm animals, hayrides, photo ops and more! Familyfriendlytampabay.com told us about 3 places where you can cut down your own tree, but we found 1 more (cost-effective) place as well! Here’s the 4 locations where you can cut your own Christmas tree in Tampa Bay.
1. Lazy Lay Acres Christmas Tree Farm
Located at 14920 Swift Rd, Dade City, FL 33523. Only about 40 minutes from Downtown Tampa, this is the most convenient and family friendly spot to grab your own Christmas tree. They’re open from 9a-6p 7 days a week. Stick around and have the kids hang out at the petting zoo with farm animals. Prices vary on size and type of tree. Click here to visit their Facebook page.
2. Ergle Christmas Tree Farm
Located at 3331 Treiman Blvd Unit B, Dade City, FL. This tree farm has six different types of trees including Florida grown Christmas trees. They’re open from 9a-7p every day throughout the holidays. Field-grown trees are priced at $36.00 for 6 foot and under. Additional $6.00 a foot up to 9 foot and $7.00 a foot for trees above 9 foot. Click here for more info.
3. Ocala National Forest
If you’re up for a little bit of a drive it may be worth it to get your Christmas tree from the Ocala National Forrest. You’ll need a permit in order to cut down your own tree but it only costs $10. Click here for more info and to purchase your permit.
4. Santa’s Christmas Tree Forest
Located at 35317 Huff Rd, Eustis, FL 32736. This is another long trip from Downtown Tampa (about 90 minutes) but there’s so much to do other than cutting your own tree. This farm also includes hayrides, campfires, kiddie cart rides, and visits with various farm animals. Choose between three different types of trees. You can’t just walk in and buy a tree here, TICKETS ARE REQUIRED. Tree Sales Only times are FREE, but reservations on the ticket site are required.
