At a sight-unseen auction, a woman from Florida paid $59,000 for a house that was built 100 years ago; however, she was not allowed to inspect the property before making her purchase. This paves the way for uncovering something unique, which is exactly what she accomplished.
The unidentified woman, whose name is just Mallory, bought the house as a do-it-yourself project and provided a tour of it on TikTok. She pointed out some of the peculiar features of the house, such as exterior paneling on an inner wall, bedroom doors equipped with knockers, and a jail cell in the basement. An actual jail cell, you got that right. Mallory relates that the home was formerly occupied by a state patrolman, who, during the times when the local jail was closed, would keep criminals locked up within. After that, when the prison opened in the morning, he would move the inmate to the lockup until the day was through. And I know what you’re thinking… How could a house in Florida have a jail built in it AND a basement? Well even though Mallory is from Florida, she bought this house for $59,000 cash in Ohio. Otherwise, that jail cell would be underwater.
Here are my thoughts:
1. She needs to rebuild the entirety of the house while also keeping the jail cell intact. It's kind of disturbingly cool, if that makes any sense.
2. There are a lot of individuals that are afraid of their basements, especially kids. What would happen if they discovered that there was a jail cell down there? Am I right!?
