Get To Disney World from Orlando International Airport for $2

It would be neato to get to Disney World from the airport using one of those Tron cycles, but unfortunately this $2 tip is a little less exciting. But it's cheap!

You can now get to Walt Disney World from Orlando International Airport for just $2.

When it comes to doing Disney on the cheap, you’ve got to do a little research. The overspending can start the minute you land at Orlando International Airport. If you have friends or family coming to Florida to visit Mickey Mouse, give them this tip.

Sure there are plenty of shuttles. But they often have to make a dozen stops along the way at various hotels. There are the ride share services like Uber and Lyft, but that can get pricy. Many don’t know there’s a new super cheap way just added this year to get to Disney from the Orlando Airport. Just take the darn bus!

It’s a new bus route, according to WESH. LYNX, which is Orlando’s public bus system, launched the new Link 311 route in April. It runs daily from 5AM to 11PM so that should cover most travelers departure and arrival times.

How to get To Disney World from Orlando International Airport

Find the LYNX bus departures at Terminal A. The buses leave in spots 38, 39, 40 and 41. The one way fare is just $2 per person. It’ll drop you off at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). From there, you’ll find free Disney transportation to just about any Disney World resort or park.

OK it’s cheap, but how long does it take?

The reporter who did the story for WESH said the ride on LYNX from the airport to Disney Springs took about one hour. That’s a shorter ride time than the shuttles my friends took who visited last month. They paid about $20 and the ride from Orlando International Airport to the Animal Kingdom lodge we were staying at took them about 90 minutes. There are seven stops along the way, including the Florida Mall and the convention center on International Drive.

So the next time you have friends visiting from out of town. Let them know the cheapest way to get to Disney World from Orlando International Airport costs just $2.

How To Enjoy Disney World During The Summer

  • Magic Kingdom

    We’ll start with Magic Kingdom Park. There are several attractions indoors where you can enjoy some Disney magic and air conditioning as well: 

    • The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square. Both the lobby waiting area and the show are comfortably indoors. The show itself is about 25 minutes long. 
    • The Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland is another indoor theatre experience, and it lasts about 20 minutes. 
    • The Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland and gets you about 15 minutes of indoor entertainment. 
    • Shopping up and down Main Street USA is another popular way to escape the beating sun.

  • Epcot

    If you’re starting your day at Epcot, here are some places to stay cool:
    • When you enter EPCOT, there are few places to enjoy, learn, and stay cool. The Living Seas pavilion features a large aquarium where you can visit dolphins, sharks, rays, various species of fish and other sea life up close.
    • Heading over to The Land pavilion, there are two great rides, Living With The Land and Soarin’, each of which is indoors. There’s also a large cafeteria where you can take a break and get a snack or drink.
    • There’s also the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival in 3D. Sit back and relax in theatre while you enjoy these entertaining cartoons.
    • Back in the World Showcase, there is a China pavilion featuring shopping, dining, and a show. The lobby outside the show has seating and a large waiting area where you can relax for as long as you’d like to stay out of the heat.
    • The American pavilion features a show, The American Adventure. It tells the story of our nation’s history featuring animatronic figures, a 72-foot screen, and patriotic songs. The show is nearly half-an-hour long.
    • Interested in something FREE at EPCOT? There’s a gift shop called Club Cool, and there is a wall of Coca-Cola products from around the world, not offered in the U.S.A., that you can taste for free.
    • Looking for a cool mists? The Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, allows you to explore the wonders of water.

  • Hollywood Studios

    Now, on to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We had a more difficult time compiling a list of places to stay out of the sun here, but did find some.
    • Muppet*Vision 3D: Here’s a nice place to sit back, relax, and laugh at the Muppets. More than just a 3D show, the effects take place all around you. Of course, there’s cheesy humor, too!
    • Another place to visit inside Hollywood Studios where you can get a break from the heat is Walt Disney Presents. Here, you can learn all about Walt, his youth and how he created his legacy. You can also watch Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream, a 15-minute documentary. All in the comfort of air conditioning!
    • Want a snack? The ABC Commissary has a lunch and dinner menu a little different than other fast service restaurants. The selection may surprise you, and there’s something for everyone’s taste.

  • Animal Kingdom

    Animal Kingdom is a little different. There is a lot of shade. You can take advantage of that. There are some notable places to escape the sun.
    • There’s a location inside the park that some people still don’t know about. Take a train to a section of the park called Rafiki’s Planet Watch and you’ll find the Conservation Station. It’s a petting area, and there’s also a veterinary care center you can explore.
    • Another place to get out of the heat is in Pandora-The World Of Avatar. There’s a quick service restaurant called Satu’li Canteen. There’s plenty of seating under cover, and indoor seating if you’d prefer.
