Bucs Quarterback Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuit
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and the Uber driver who accused him of groping her back in 2016 have agreed to a settlement.
An allegation of sexual assault that cost Jameis Winston some games at the beginning of the season is now hitting him in the wallet.
While police declined to press charges, Winston was suspended 3 games by the NFL. Now, Winston has settled a suit in which a female driver accused him of reaching from the back seat into the front to grab her crotch through her yoga pants, while in the drive-thru of an Arizona restaurant in March 2016. She filed a lawsuit against Winston in September seeking $75,000 in damages.
Terms of the settlement have not been announced and we are unlikely to ever hear about them. Should the Bucs cut Winston loose with this settlement being done? Is it an admission of guilt without admitting guilt? We can only guess as to what effect if any this has had on his season, but it seems the Bucs as a team have not all been on the same page this season. Only time will tell if Winston will remain on the roster for next year.
