REO Speedwagon Announces 2021 Clearwater Concert Date

You’ve probably heard the news on Q105 but if not, mark Wednesday, July 21 on your calendar. REO Speedwagon will play Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. It’ll be a fun night with 40 years of iconic Q105 hits like “Take It On The Run,” “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” and “Keep On Loving You.” Kevin Cronin has been with the band since 1972 and is still going strong.

Tickets are $53.25, $63.25, $88.25, and $108.25. If you want to really do it up big, $150 Pre-show Dinner Packages are available and include a premium seat, a three course meal and your choice of (1) beer, wine or soda. Or the REO Speedwagon – Wheels Are Turnin’ Package for $210 includes one premium reserved ticket, an exclusive REO Speedwagon raglan tour shirt, REO Speedwagon pin set, USB lanyard, REO Speedwagon collectible coin, commemorative tour laminate and ticket.

At the moment, precautions to prevent COVID-19 spread are still in effect. From the Ruth Eckeard Hall website: “Appropriate face coverings are required for all persons inside the facility, no exceptions. All persons will be screened for prohibited items and elevated temperatures above 100.4 degrees using contactless technology.”

  The GRAMMY Award winner plays Ruth Eckerd Hall for the first time in 7 years.

  If you've been to a Buffett show, you know the real show isn't on stage, it's in the crowd. This will be the 3rd attempt at making this concert happened. Jimmy had shoulder surgery that postponed the concert in 2019. Then our friend COVID-19 meant a postponement of the rescheduled 2020 concert at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

• June 18 & 19: Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett

  Miami's show will be on June 18. The next night the tour comes to Orlando. Then the tour moves north but comes back to Florida for a show in Jacksonville on July 2. Unfortunately still no word of any Tampa dates for the tour.

  A rare chance to see an intimate performance with Rod at the Hard Rock Event Center in Tampa. The last time Rod played the room, he walked out on stage and saw the small audience and jokingly asked if he was getting his normal fee.

• June 3: The Rolling Stones

  If you missed them in Tampa, you have one more chance to see the Rolling Stones when the Hackney Diamonds '24 tour comes to Camping World Stadium in Orlando. And if you miss this show, you'll have to catch them on one of their future tours over the next few decades... because even though the show is sponsored by AARP, the Stones show no signs of slowing down.

• Cancelled: Cher

  The concert was originally set for March 26. Cher hoped to reschedule, but given the uncertainty of how long we'll be dealing with coronavirus, she has decided to cancel the show so fans can get refunds.
