8 Best Florida Companies To Work For

Forbes is out with its annual list of the best companies to work for in America. Florida had 8 employers on the list.  Cisco and Hilton topped the list nationally, but what about here in Florida?  These 8 companies made the prestigious list.  Two are right here in our area.

• #8: JM Family Enterprises in Miami and Jacksonville

  Ranked #94 overall, Forbes says during the pandemic, the company paid for leaves for parents dealing with childcare and school closures. Their subsidiaries include Southeast Toyota Distributors.

• #7: L3Harris Technologies in Melbourne

  Share

  A tech company and defense contractor. They produce things like night vision equipment They came in at #80 overall. They let 20,000 employees work remotely during the pandemic and gave grants to workers facing tough times financially through their "L3Harris Cares" relief fund.

• #6: BayCare Health System in Tampa

  The not-for-profit health care system came in at #68 overall. They were able to avoid furloughs and layoffs thanks to a financial reserve and reduced costs on employee dental insurance.
• #5: Citrix in Fort Lauderdale

  The software giant came in at #59 in the nation. Forbes says they made an extra effort to deal with equity and justice after the George Floyd incident.

• #4: DHL Express U.S. in Plantation

  Coming in at #57 nationally, the shipping company did not cut jobs or pay during the pandemic even though they had to ground fleets.

• #3: Baptist Health South Florida in Coral Gables

  The company made headlines for a "Day of Smiles" where they offered free reconstructive surgery for parents would couldn't afford procedures to treat facial deformities. This their 21st year making the list.
• #2: Publix in Lakeland

  Grocery stores were vital during the pandemic and Publix stepped up for their workers, offering mental health care and compensating workers who had to quarantine. The Lakeland based chain came in nationally at #42 on Forbes' list.

• #1: UKG in Weston

  If you aren't familiar with them, nor was I! They provide HR solutions to companies. So it makes sense they know how to treat employees well, right? Even during the pandemic, they expanded benefits coverage, gave unlimited time off and ran a virtual summer camp for employees' children! They came in #5 overall.
