Westchase Homeowner Fined For Putting Up Christmas Lights Too Soon
Already in this Christmas spirit? It can cost ya.
Micahel Moffa got fined $1,000 for putting up Christmas lights too soon by his homeowner’s association, according to Channel 8. Moffa says he couldn’t put them up himself so he hired a company to do it. Their only available time slot was last week on November 6.
The rules at the Westchase Community Association say you have to wait until Thanksgiving. A neighbor complained and days later the notice that they’re out $1,000 came in the mail.
Dumb rule?

There was apparently a problem with people leaving lights up year round so this was an effort to stop that. The Moffas say they’re willing to leave them off until Thanksgiving. But sounds like that won’t cut it. [Source: Channel 8]
