A mother from Clearwater was at a Disney Springs restaurant with her son. From here on, things went downhill.
The 42-year-old woman and son were in the bar area of the T-Rex Cafe at Disney Springs in April. She left her child in the bar area to go back to her car to get her credit card. Later, she again left the child in the bar area, saying she needed to get her credit card again. This time, she did not return.
Having left her belongings, along with her son, her purchases of five double Grey Goose vodka drinks were identified on receipts from earlier in the day. Authorities were able to find her ‘severely intoxicated’ in one of the parking garages. First responders took her to a hospital.
While at the hospital, the woman didn’t ask about her son. She was charged with child neglect, and last week pleaded not guilty to the charge. The trial is set for August 15, and she’s being held in jail.
A sheriff’s report indicates she’s already on probation for child neglect, which includes not being allowed in bars nor use of alcohol.
