South Tampa’s Speakeasy Ciro’s Is Closing
WASHINGTON, DC - APRIL 29: Cocktails crafted by David Strauss as Eric Podwall Hosts An Exclusive Cocktail Experience The Evening Before White House Correspondents' Dinner at Sheppard on April 29, 2016 in Washington, DC.
Have you been to South Tampa’s speakeasy Ciro’s? Well, unfortunately you won’t have time to go there in the future.
Word broke from Ciro’s on their social media account:
“Today, we sadly announce the permanent closure of Ciro’s. Since 2009, Ciro’s has been a cherished spot for locals and visitors alike. Due to structural issues at The Bayshore Royale, we are forced to close our doors. Thank you to our loyal guests, staff and the Tampa community for your support and memories shared over the years. As they say, this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later.”
Statement on South Tampa’s Speakeasy Ciro’s Closing on their Website
If you visit their website, you’ll see, “Although the doors of Ciro’s may close, its legacy will endure, and we look forward to creating new memories with you in the future.
The owners of Ciro’s also own Jekyll, which is located in Hyde Park. The good news is that Jekyll isn’t closing.
Back in March, we heard from management, and they said they would be closing temporarily in March. Now, that has changed.
On the MJ Morning Show, we were hypothesizing what could be wrong with the building, and we are concerned because what about the other people who live in the building. Are they at risk in some way?
I’m sure going to miss South Tampa’s speakeasy Ciro’s. I’ve been there a handful of times. They make excellent drinks, doing all the proper things like muddling. I love the way the servers were dressed, giving you total 1920’s vibes. What I’m really going to miss is the truffle popcorn. I would eat buckets and buckets of it. The best truffle popcorn in town. MJ visited occasionally, also. He really enjoyed the drinks and small plates. Goodbye, for now, South Tampa’s speakeasy Ciro’s. I’ve enjoyed my good times there.
