April showers bring May flowers…is that how it goes? Around Tampa Bay, let’s add the line, “June brings in the monsoon.” Or something like that…
June seems to kick off our rainy season around here. And this will be the weekend to make sure you have your umbrella with you.
The upside to this weekend? Though we’ll see some down pours, we’ll also have some sunshine to enjoy outside.
Tropical moisture overhead could result in one to three inches of rain through Sunday. Some places around the bay could expect even more rain.
Be on the lookout for potentially some flash flooding.
The rain will start to end around 8 P.M. on Saturday. And Sunday we can expect the scattered rainstorms, once again.
The official start of Tampa Bay’s rainy season, where we see typical afternoon rain, began on May 25th. This “stormiest” part of the season will run through the beginning of July.
