Be prepared to NOT have access to travel southbound on the Howard Frankland Bridge overnight next Monday.
The construction project continues, and the southbound lanes will need to be closed from 11 P.M. on Monday, February 6th until Tuesday morning on February 7th at 5:00 A.M.
You’ll still be able to get across the bridge if you are traveling in the Northbound direction during that time.
If you do need to go from the Tampa side to St. Pete during that window of closure, you have options. Definitely, plan to add some time to your trip. You can take the Courtney Campbell and then head up the Bayside Bridge into St. Pete. Or you could go down and jump on the Gandy Bridge to traverse the bay.
It will be nice when the Gateway Expressway project is finally finished. It’s a $595 million project.
