If you’re looking for a job, or looking to change jobs, there’s a Tampa Bay job and career fair on Monday, June 12.

50 employers will be on hand at the Tampa Bay Job and Career Fair. Bring plenty of copies of your resume. There’s no need to register for this event. There’s also free parking. This is what else you need to know.

Examples of businesses and organizations looking to hire include:
Bausch + Lomb, Moffitt Cancer Center, TSA, St. Leo University, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, US Army, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, USF, Grow Financial, St. Petersburg Police Department and Tampa Bay Times.

Here are some helpful hints:

  • Dress for success, wear business attire
  • Bring plenty of copies of your resume
  • Bring your best smile. A positive attitude goes a long way

Tampa Bay Area July 4th Celebrations

In a few days, we’ll begin seeing fireworks stands opening all around the Tampa Bay area. If you’d prefer to see fireworks shows done by professionals, here are some of the July 4th celebrations taking place nearby.

For many, being on a Tuesday night might affect the opportunity to enjoy the nighttime celebrations. However, there will be some full-day events available. There are even celebrations happening on Monday night, and some over the weeekend. Here’s a list of locations to celebrate Independence Day and some of what each will offer.

July 4th Fireworks Show

  • Clearwater Celebrates America

    July 4th events will take place at The Sound in Clearwater. There will be a classic car show, farmer’s market, plus live music and street entertainment. Family-friendly games and entertainment will lead into the evening when Clearwater hosts their largest ever fireworks display accompanied by the Florida Orchestra.

    The required tickets are free, but must be acquired in advance at TheSoundFLA.com. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Blankets are suggested for seating on the lawn. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

  • The Fourth at St. Pete Pier

    St. Pete’s celebration takes place at the St. Pete Pier with great viewing from Spa Beach Park on the north side of the Pier. There will be the annual St. Pete Pier Run, craft beer, food trucks, vendors and live music.

    Of course, a fireworks show finishes off the evening’s celebration.

    Gates open at 5 p.m.

    From the Pier area, or its nearby parks, you’ll be able to watch the fireworks show.

  • Hometown USA Celebration in Dunedin

    Clearly, Dunedin knows that some need a day to recover after their Independence Day celebration. The Hometown USA Celebration will take place Monday, July 3.

    Dunedin will host the crowd who can enjoy live music, a movie, plus games and face painting. There will be fireworks at TD Ballpark.

    The band, Modern Measure Band, will play from 7-9:15 p.m. Bay Kings Band will play following the fireworks.

    “Field of Dreams” will play at 7:15.

    Fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m.

  • Tampa's Boom By The Bay (Saturday, July 1, 2023)

    Tampa’s Downtown Partnership hosts Boom By the Bay  This features events around the downtown Tampa area. There are multiple locations that will feature festivities from Bayshore Blvd. to Sparkman Wharf, and up the Hillsborough River.

    Live entertainment, kids games and food trucks will be found at the various locations. Fireworks will be launched from four different locations. Admission is free.

    Tampa’s Downtown Partnership invites the whole family, and says that the four-legged family members are invited as well, though it might not be in the best interest for some to bring dogs to a fireworks show.

  • 48th Annual Temple Terrace Independence Day Celebration

    Tuesday, July 4th, Temple Terrace will host a parade beginning at 10 a.m.

    At 6 p.m., festivities resume at the 1st fairway of the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club (600 Inverness Ave). There will be live music covering almost all genres. Grab a bite from the food trucks, or bring the kids over for some entertainment, including Magician Cory Van Valin.

    Expect to laugh and experience shock and a sense of wonder all in the rollercoaster of entertainment Van Valin provides. From his personable approach to his red jacket with reflective mirror tie, Cory Van Valin will be hard to miss at this year’s event.

    Enjoy the fireworks beginning at 9:15 p.m.

  • Plant City July 4th Celebration

    Now in its 17th year, the Plant City July 4th Celebration is a free vent. ($5 per car for parking). It’s a family-friendly event.

    Activities on the grass of Planty City Stadium include Corn Hole, balloon art, face painting, kiddie train rides, inflatables, a rock-climbing wall and tug-o-war.

    Live entertainment will be on stage. There will be a 50-50 drawing.

    Parking opens at 5:30 p.m., the stadium opens at 6 p.m. Entertainment on stage begins at 7 p.m.

    Concessions and field activities end at 8:30.

    There will be a military salute and National Anthem at 8:45 p.m. Fireworks will begin about 9:15 p.m.

    Vendors, concessions and parking will only take cash and there is no ATM on site, so be prepared. This will be an alcohol-free event.

  • 8th Annual Zephyrhills Summerfest Fireworks Show (Saturday, July 1)

    It’s the 8th one, so Zephyrhills must be doing this right! This year, it’s on Saturday, July 1, kicking off the weekend.

    Zephyr Lake Park hosts this free celebration. Beginning at noon, there will be a live DJ playing music all day. There’s a Kids Zone: Bounce houses, petting zoo and pony rides. There are also contests and raffles to win prizes.

    Food vendors and drink stations will be available through the day.

    Saturday night, youll witness a 30 minute fireworks show that lights up the lake.
