Airport Cancelations Affecting Tampa Bay Travelers Ahead Of 4th Of July
If you plan on traveling for the 4th of July weekend, pack some patience because there are airport cancelations. There have been flight cancellations in airports across the country, including Tampa International Airport.
What’s the cause of the cancelations? It’s partially related to severe weather moving across the country. Tuesday afternoon there were 21 cancellations and 115 delays out of 445 planned flights out of TPA.
Why Cancelations At Airports?
Severe weather isn’t the only cause of the airport cancelations. Some issues are arising because of the Canadian wildfires. Anticipate the unexpected as the volume of travelers is increasing as we get into this 4-day holiday weekend.

Ranking The Family Water Slides At Tampa's Adventure Island
What are the best family water slides at Adventure Island in Tampa?
And I define family as slides as those that are suitable for the 42 inches and taller crowd. We didn’t analyze the slides that require riders to be taller than 48 inches, because I have one little peanut in the family so she didn’t make the cut for those slides, so we couldn’t test them out.
I’ve always loved water slides. I’m obsessed. It’s pretty much my favorite thing to do so I feel like I’m a decent judge. It had many years since I’d been to Adventure Island. Well, actually I made a trip there back in 2015 to test out the Colossal Curl as part of Morning Show. I LOVE the Colossal Curl because you can fit more than two people on the raft, but riders must be 48 inches or more, so we did not go on the Colossal Curl.
It was hard to pick favorites when we did this analysis because we really love all the water slides at Adventure Island. So basically, we tried to focus on which ones would be most enjoyed as family rides. Fun for the whole family!
