A high-speed chase over I-4 and I-275 in Tampa ended with a PIT maneuver.
The Florida Highway Patrol was involved in a chase Friday morning. Troopers were trying to stop a Dodge Durango on I-4.
The Durango was judged to be driving over 100 mph as a trooper was following. The driver continued onto I-275 as the trooper caught up.
As the Durango attempted to exit at Busch Blvd., the trooper in a Dodge Charger used a PIT maneuver to spin out the Durango. The driver was taken into custody.
The driver, an 18-year-old, had no legal identification. He was reported to be charged with reckless driving, fleeing law enforcement and driving without a license. He also had a substance that was identified as marijuana.
Watch the video below. It shows dashcam footage of the PIT maneuver and a trooper who took the driver into custody.
