(Chris Livingston/Getty Images)Walt Disney Co. is getting ready to roll out some big money to invest in the theme parks and cruise lines. This investment influx of $60 billion will occur over the next ten years.
That $60 billion is almost twice as much as what it's spent in the most recent historical ten-year period. Park lovers will be thrilled about this news.
The company reviewed growth trends after making investments in the theme parks. For instance, they added Cars Land out in Disney California Adventure. They added Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and Hollywood Studios. After making these big investments, the company saw big growth numbers.
When is the last time you made it over to Disney parks in Hong Kong, Paris and/or Tokyo? Me? I've never been. But for guests who visit the parks out of the country, they'll be in for a treat. Walt Disney is opening Frozen-themed lands in those locations.
But we do have some fun things to look forward to locally, i.e. in Lake Buena Vista. Who doesn't love Pirates of the Caribbean? Well, there's a pirate-themed lounge coming to the Magic Kingdom. And the Test Track ride at Epcot will be spruced up, as well. According to Disney, "there is a deep well of stories" to explore at all of the theme parks. Better believe it, the way Disney churns out movies. I'm waiting for more Frozen rides, Encanto theme park rides...the list goes on and on.
Since Bob Iger has been back in the saddle as CEO, he's all about ramping up theme park investment.
Disney Invests In Cruises
So there you have all the park details. How about the cruise line? Disney will add two ships in 2025 and then one more in 2026. Parents and kids LOVE those cruises.

Roxanne’s Favorite “Less Expensive” Things To Do At Disney When You’re At Disney
Last weekend I took my kids to Disney World. MJ teased me that I was a bad mom for not taking them to the parks. But there's no hard and fast rule that you MUST take your kids to a park while you are staying at Disney World. We found plenty of other things to do that, some of which were free with our stay. My kid are 5 and 2 and they were THOROUGHLY entertained. (These ideas may not work for kids of all ages).
And by the way, I titled this "less expensive" things to do at Disney, but technically, they are all free (with your hotel stay).
1. Ride the Disney Skyliner and Ferries

Disney Skyliner
We spent half a day riding around on Disney transportation and my kids LOVED it. No lines and we got great views of all the Disney properties, from Epcot's Spaceship Earth to MGM's Tower of Terror and all the cool hotel properties.
2. Walk Around Disney Springs

Disney Springs
You can walk around and look in all the shops. Of course, you'll spend money on shopping and dining, but you gotta eat, right?! My kids just enjoyed seeing some of the musical performances and all the hustle-bustle.
3. Enjoy the Hotel Pool

Pool Day
If you are at a park all day, you can't even take the time to enjoy a dip in your hotel pool. And they all have cool themes and amenities. At the pool at the Art of Animation Hotel, there were plenty of fun places for the kids to climb on and explore.
4. Relax in Your Room

Art of Animation
Again, what's the point of spending all that money on your hotel room if you're only in it to crash after a park firework show, and then you bounce out to hit a park first thing in the a.m. They have colorful themes and furniture. And we packed all of our Disney princess costumes, so one night we just chilled in the room and did fashion shows.
5. Explore the Hotel Prpperty

Art of Animation
Whether it's the Animal Kingdom Hotel with all of the animal viewing opportunities or the Art of Animation hotel with photo ops around every corner, take the time to walk around whatever resort you at and take in all the Disney details.
