Five-Star Tampa Hotel Named One Of The Best In The World
Tampa’s first, and so far, only five-star hotel has been selected as one of the “best” and “most incredible” in the world. The renowned travel experts at “Fodors” just released their annual list of the 60 best hotels in the world.
Less than two dozen hotels on the entire North American continent were nominated, and The Tampa Edition in the Channelside District downtown was the only hotel in Florida to make the list. So much for The Breakers and the Don Cesar or the Ritz Carlton!
Fodors made note of The Tampa Edition’s “posh yet minimalist” rooms as well as its Michelin star restaurant, Lilac.
Five-star Tampa hotel The Tampa Edition has become THE place to be for celebrities.
And then there’s the nightlife. Catering as much to locals as to the guests, young professionals and well-heeled power couples are flocking to the rooftop pool bar and to the luxurious lobby bar, making the hotel a favorite hangout for those that can afford to hang! Last fall, the grand opening drew celebrities like Lenny Kravitz who marked the occasion with a private, VIP-only concert at Amalie Arena.
Five-star Tampa hotel The Tampa Edition looks like it belongs in Paris, London or Miami, but we’re lucky enough to have it here at home, adding more life to the ongoing renaissance in downtown Tampa.

Four Differences Between Tampa EDITION And Miami EDITION Hotels
It’s exciting for Tampa to have its first five-star hotel, which is the Tampa EDITION. If you’ve stayed at both the Tampa and Miami EDITION hotels, you’ll know they have signature luxury decor and design, restaurants with amazing food prepared by award-winning chefs, and great bars for cocktails.
But there are some key differences. Both hotels are very chic and cater to tourists and locals, alike. Here’s how they differ. The lobby in the Tampa EDITION is so green! Plants are everywhere! There are many more plants than there are places to sit down.
The hotel in Miami is on South Beach so you can enjoy oceanfront views and go take a dip in the Atlantic. In Tampa, the hotel is on Channelside Drive. It’s right across from Amalie Arena on one side and Water Street restaurants, including Boulon, on the other. You can visit Tampa and enjoy everything downtown has to offer. It’s all relatively close. If you are going to a South Beach restaurant, it may be a 25-minute Uber ride if it’s at the other end of South Beach.
There are seven restaurants and bars, including a gorgeous rooftop bar. The lobby is stunning. There is so much greenery and elegance everywhere. You’ll see the design and be blown aways.
What I absolutely love about the Miami EDITION is the ice-skating rink and bowling alley. They are on the lower level, and there’s also a fancy bar inside the bowling alley. Such a cool place to take the whole family. The music, food, and special effects were outstanding.
Whether you are enjoying a visit to an EDITION Hotel on Florida’s east coast ore west coast, you will definitely have a great time.
