Could The Skyride Return to Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens is known for its thrilling, high-speed coasters, but one classic ride we’ll always love is the Skyride.
2024 is going to be a big year at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. They’re launching the new Phoenix Rising Coaster. They’ll continue the fun with Bier Fest, Food & Wine Fest, and another round of Christmas Town. But could the return of an old classic, a fan-favorite, also be in the mix?
Even if the biggest rollercoaster nuts like to mix it up with a relaxing spin on the Skyride. Remember those days? Floating high above the park. The perfect bird’s eye view. Could we see the Skyride make a return in 2024?
I certainly remember those days. As a kid, I always loved going to Busch Gardens for my birthday. And riding the Skyride was my favorite. You always got a little scared that the ride might get stuck, and then you’d be dangling in air for a bit. But it was worth it. It would take you from the Egypt end of the park to the Congo part of Busch.
I did’t realize this, but it closed during the pandemic. 2020. I’m not sure why. Quite a few things were scaled back during this time. It’s remained “closed for repairs.” In August, there were rumblings that it might be back. Now Busch Gardens has released a Skyride video. At least in the video you see a blue gondola gliding through the air. It’s a simple caption. Testing.
Hmmm? Not sure what or when it might re-launch. But we will keep you posted whenever we hear anything about the Skyride.
