Many bands offer their fans a chance to get to see them on their final tours. This means planning appearances all over. Sadly, one band is leaving Florida off their farewell tour, and that is Jeff Lynne's ELO.
That is Jeff Lynne's ELO 'Over and Out' Tour, which marks the end of a run that began in 1972. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, led by Jeff Lynne, are making 27 tour stops across the United States, plus a couple of Canadian shows.
The tour kicks off on August 24 in Palm Desert, California, and crisscrosses its way around North America until it returns to California to finish in Los Angeles on October 25. However, the Tampa Bay area did not land on the tour. In fact, no Florida venues landed on the tour schedule. The closest tour date to Florida will be October 12 in Atlanta, Georgia.
We don't know why Florida, the third-largest by population in the country, was left out. Will they add some more dates to their farewell tour? We'll keep an eye on Jeff Lynne's ELO tour news and announce anything we learn.
Electric Light Orchestra, now known as Jeff Lynne's ELO recorded great classic songs such as "Roll over Beethoven," "Evil Woman," "Livin' Thing," "Do Ya," "Telephone Line," "Turn to Stone," "Sweet Talkin' Woman," "Don't Bring Me Down," and "Hold On Tight."
If that wasn't enough, they were featured on the soundtrack soundtrack of 1980's Xanadu with Olivia Newton-John. That soundtrack included "I'm Alive," "Xanadu," and "All Over The World."

Jeff Lynne was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 15, 2023 in New York City. As leader of Jeff Lynne's ELO, formerly Electric Light Orchestra, he wrote nearly all of the band's hits.<br>(Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Songwriters Hall of Fame)

2025 80s Cruise Artist Lineup Announced
The 2025 80s Cruise is set and the lineup of bands has been announced. Are your favorites on their lineup for next year?
In 2024, the 80s cruise left Port Canaveral on the "Mariner of the Seas". It made stops in Aruba and Curacao. The week-long cruise featured bands like Tommy Tutone, .38 Special, Air Supply, Debbie Gibson, Sheena Easton, Wang Chung and the lead singers of Warrant and Ratt, just to name a few. We're excited to announce the 2025 80s cruise lineup!
What is The 80s Cruise?
The 80s Cruise is one of several themed cruises aboard Royal Caribbean ships. There's also the Rock Legends Cruise, Star Trek: The Cruise, Super Legends, High Seas Rally, The 90s Cruise, Comic-Con: The Cruise, and The Old School Cruise.
Now that the 2024 cruise has passed, the next one is ready to book. Calling itself "The Ultimate 80s Party," the cruise travels out of Miami, visits Nassau, San Juan and Labadee. Sailing aboard the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas, the party begins March 2, 2025.

The Explorer of the Seas can carry up to 4,290 guests on 14 guest decks. While aboard, travelers can enjoy the Flowrider Surf Simulator, an ice skating rink, rock-climbing wall, nine-hole miniature golf course and the 'Peek-a-Boo Bridge.'
There are four 'complimentary' dining restaurants along with six specialty restaurants, plus plenty of bars and lounges. For some relaxation, there are three pools, theater, casino and spa and fitness center.
It's time to get ready for the fun!
This cruise is all about the 80s. Get ready to hear your favorite bands from the best decade of music and original MTV personalities. Many guests arrive with their best 80s garb.
The party continues all through the cruise. There are more than 50 concerts, ship-wide pub crawls, 80s karaoke, 80s movies and even "Let's Get Physical" aerobics!
Are you ready to find out which artists will be aboard the 2025 80s Cruise?

Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes," "Strip," and "Room at the Top" made him an iconically 'original' and recognizable character of the 1980s.
Christopher Cross

Often labeled as 'yacht rock,' Christopher Cross had hits with "Ride Like the Wind" and most appropriately, "Sailing." He also lent his voice to the theme from the movie "Arthur"

Her first album, "The Glamorous Life," and it's title single, would gain Grammy nominations. Percussionist Sheila E. had a sound that became a big part of Prince's band, particularly on "Purple Rain."

It's because of Men At Work that Americans know what Vegemite is. The band had hits with "Who Can It Be Now?" "Down Under," "Be Good Johnny," "Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive" and "Overkill."

Feel the noize with Quiet Riot as they play on The 80s Cruise. Their signature hits are "Cum On Feel The Noize," "Bang Your Head" and "Mama Weer All Crazee Now."
Information Society
It's likely the only song on Q105 to feature a sample from an actor from "Star Trek." Information Society's "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)" is still a huge hit, and will forever live on dance parties playlists.
Kurtis Blow
According to Kurtis Blow's website, he was the first rapper to sign to a major label, the first to earn a gold record for rap, the first to tour the U.S. AND Europe, first to make a rap video, first rapper to be featured in a soap opera (It was "One Life to Live") and the first rap millionaire.

T'Pau
Lead singer Carol Decker is the face of T'Pau, a band named for a Vulcan high priestess from Star Trek. Of course, their hit 'Heart and Soul' is one of the iconic songs of the 1980s.
From The Jam
Reformed from members of The Jam, From the Jam have sold out their appearances in the UK. Now, they've toured the world, and are set to cruise the Caribbean with you.
