Planning to head to Tampa for this year’s Boom By The Bay? Tampa’s 4th of July festivities are free. Of course there will be the fireworks and music. There’s even an apple pie throwdown this year. But there are some things you should leave home if you’re heading to the event. Here is a list of things you can and can’t bring to Tampa’s 4th of July celebration Boom By The Bay.
The fireworks this year can be viewed from three different locations – Armature Works, Sparkman Wharf and Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park.
If you’d like to get text alerts in case there’s a weather event or celebration plans change for some reason, the City of Tampa suggests you text BOOM to 888-777. You’ll receive special notifications about Boom by the Bay instantly so you won’t have to scramble to find updates on social media.
What’s OK and NOT OK to Bring to Tampa’s 4th of July Celebrations
There will be plenty of vendors but if you’d like to save some money by bringing your own food and drinks, you are welcome to do that. However, you can’t bring any grilling or cooking stuff. And those drinks can’t be alcoholic drinks.
What about chairs and blankets? The City of Tampa says those are ok. But leave tents and large umbrellas at home.
When it comes to fireworks, the City of Tampa says leave it to the professionals. Fireworks are obviously strictly prohibited. But even sparklers are on the banned items list.
What about pets? “Well-behaved pets” that are kept on a leash are allowed on the Riverwalk and in public parks. Service animals are ok too. But do keep in mind those fireworks and celebrations can be loud. So it might be a better idea to leave pets at home.
