Western Themed BBQ And Steak On Clearwater Beach
Recently I wrote about our joy of finding a great steak house on Clearwater Beach in this story here. So imagine our delight when we found a western themed barbecue and steak house that had recently opened on the beach.
The new restaurant is called Smoke & Barrel and it is located on the south end of Clearwater Beach, in the plaza just before you travel across the Sand Key bridge. The manager Brad Eberle, says their focus is on, “premium steaks, great American barbecue and whiskey”.
As you enter, you see the place is very open with an old west decor to it. There is a large bar area with huge big screens all around the room enabling you to watch any sports event you’d like. There’s lots of cold draft beer on tap, they even have their own brew called Cut & Shoot Lager. There’s a “wine cellar” wall for you to select the best wines around, and of course a full liquor bar that highlights a specialty menu of bourbon and whiskey cocktails.
The food menu has everything from premium cuts of steak, delicious freshly smoked prime rib, bourbon glazed pork chops, chipotle chicken, pulled pork, and even a smoked maple salmon for the seafood lover. They make their own in house barbecue sauces for some of the best barbecue around.
Overall, we found the food absolutely delicious, and it was fun stop for us. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual and the staff was friendly and playful. Our bartender “Sassy Sheila” was a delight and made sure to inform us of the old fashioned juke box in the corner, it’s all free. I liked that a lot!
We went in late on a Saturday afternoon and were exiting just as the crowd started showing up. We will definitely be back.
