During today’s meeting of the Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group (EPG), officials discussed who is required to wear masks (age-wise) and how it should be enforced.
Currently, business owners and managers are in charge of requesting customers wear masks. But this has created legal problems for some. The Hillsborough EPG wants to make a change so that the individual not wearing a mask is the one who is in trouble.
Hillsborough County Commissioner Les Miller said, “Everybody we’ve heard from says masks cut down on the spread of this disease. Even the Vice President of the United States went against his boss yesterday at a church and said please wear masks.”
One change that went into effect is that children under 8 are not required to wear masks.
