As a USF Bull who spent many hours shopping at University Mall, I was sad to see stores disappear and the entire University area decline over the years. Now a new billion-dollar deal has been reached with RD Management development, to create “Rithm at Uptown.”
The idea is to create a multi-use space that will include housing for USF students that should be completed by 2022, restaurants, shops, and 7 million square feet of mixed-use space. They say the goal is to get a small city vibe on Fowler Ave. supporting university students and business owners.
The entire process should take about 5 years to complete and I can't wait to see the new neighborhood.
