Food Truck Friday In Westchase
If you’re looking for some food truck fun, Westchase on Montague was the place to be Friday to enjoy the best food trucks around the Bay area.
It was a chilly night, but fun was had by all. Kids danced up on the stage in the park. Adults chatted with neighbors. And all in attendance got a chance to try food from a variety of food trucks. And the fun will continue every Friday. More about that in a moment.
Food Truck Friday In Westchase Details
The Food Truck Rally, as it’s called, was held at the greenspace in Westchase. That’s the area just beyond the children’s park as you go down Montague in West Park Village. It kicked off at 5:30. And let’s go through the amazing food trucks that lined up in a big u-shape around the greenspace. You had: the famous Engine 53 Pizza, Got Lobstah, Jersey Dogs, Jersey Kabobs, Charm City Eats, Green Table on Wheels, Saucy Lady, and Westchase BBQ.
Now let’s talk desserts. They had Sweet Ice and Glorious Pies. It was a little too cold for my taste for the Sweet Ice, but the kids didn’t seem to mind. For dinner, my family went for one of our favorites, Westchase BBQ. They have the best mac n’ cheese and potato salad. I went for a saucy lady sub. Their meatball sub is always delish, but I had to go with the Eggplant parmigiana. It was enormous. Plenty to save to eat the next day. Boy was it good reheated.
A DJ played hits that had people of all ages on the dance floor in the middle of the park.
The fun continues each each week in February on Montague Street in Westchase. Movies in the Park is happening next Friday, February 10th. You can check out a special Valentine’s Day event on February 14, as local businesses celebrate the holiday. Always something happening in Westchase from Food Truck Rallies to Valentine’s Day fun.
Roxanne's Top 4 Pizza Shops Around Westchase
What are your favorite pizza shops in the Westchase area?
If I’m not in the mood to cook, it’s easy to order a pizza for take-out or dine at one of the pizza places around Westchase.
Here is my list of four and what I love about each.
Westchase Pizza and Pasta Co. is a great place to go on a Friday night (or any time). It’s on the corner of Countryway and Linebaugh. I like the booths and the people who run it are very friendly. They do specialty pies and made to order. I always get a pepperoni and mushroom, and then I ask for one that is not on the menu (you just select the items you want). It’s pesto-based with white cheeses and fried eggplant. It’s my favorite.
Off of Linebaugh in the plaza on the right as your headed out of Westchase toward Sheldon, you’ll find Tampa Pizza Company. And I love this place because they have really original options with their pizza toppings. They offer a Brushetta pizza and a bacon, chicken and ranch pizza. Their wings are tasty. And the atmosphere is fun for kids.
Marina’s Pizza has been around for ages, and it’s next to the Publix on Linebaugh. They make great Sicilian pizza. And the prices are reasonable, and they don’t skimp on the toppings. Try their sandwiches, too.
And finally, Atlas Gourmet Pizza makes the list. Cool name, right? They are the newest pizza shop on the list. They are up Racetrack Road in the Hampton Lakes Plaza. Sometimes on Friday nights, we’ll go there and get pizza to go and take it to the wine bar in the same plaza and sit outside to sip and dine.
There are other places around Westchase to find pizza, but these happen to be my favorites.
