Well, no chances that Bigs and Littles can go hit an amusement park. Hopefully, that will change soon, but in the meantime, chapters around the country and here in the bay area are finding ways to get Bigs and Littles to connect.
Former Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio is now CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and she says, “Our network has really pivoted towards the virtual in a very meaningful way.”
What does that mean for chapters in Tampa Bay? Stephen Koch is President & CEO of BBBS of Tampa Bay, and he said, “We started making matches over the internet, which we never used to do. We always said they have to be done in person and we prefer that…but we want to keep everyone safe and we want to keep things moving because the need for our services is greater now than ever before.”
