5 Best Places In Tampa Bay To Celebrate National Hot Dog Day
Who doesn’t love a good hot dog, especially in the summertime? Today is the day to celebrate. It’s National Hot Dog Day.
There are so many good hot dog places to choose from, but I’ll just name a few favorites in Tampa Bay.
Mel’s Hot Dogs
I have great memories going to Mel’s after a fun day at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. It’s located across the street from the parks at 4136 E, Busch Blvd. These are classic dogs and the founder is from Chicago so Mel knows good hot dogs. (Mason picked Mel’s as his favorite spot, too.)
Portillo’s
Portillo’s is “home to America’s favorite Italian beef, burgers, salads, Chicago-style hot dogs, and chocolate cake.” You can check out the Portillo’s at 2102 East Fowler Avenue.
Coney Island Grill
Let’s not leave out St. Pete. Coney Island Grill specializes in Michigan-style chili dogs. Now you’re talking. They are located at 250 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N. in St. Pete.
Hot Dogs on Main.
A cool spot to find a hot dog in Dunedin.
Sly Dogs Food Truck
If you are a vegan, you can join in on the hot dog day fun. Visit the food truck, Sly Dogs. They are 100 percent vegan.
