We’ve seen the movie so many times, and we love what the young Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) does to Harry and Marv (Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern), but there may be some behind-the-scenes facts that you didn’t know.
The role of Kevin McCallister was written specifically for Culkin, though the director still auditioned 100 kids.
What Kevin does to the ‘wet bandits’ in the movie should have caused far more harm to them. In fact, the language had to be controlled so it could continue to be a family film. Joe Pesci, who’s been known for some pretty off-color language in his roles had to be careful. It was suggested to him that, for the f-word, he should use…fridge.
