Times Square’s Naked Cowboy Finds Trouble In Florida
Have you ever seen the guy in New York City who hangs out in Times Square, plays his guitar, and wears no clothes? Of course, everyone knows “Naked Cowboy.”
Well, he was arrested this past weekend in Florida. His real name is Robert Burck. He got in trouble for “aggressive panhandling and resisting an officer without violence” while he was at Daytona Beach’s annual Bike Week.
And he got arrested wearing (or not wearing) his “uniform” (white briefs and a cowboy hat).
At his hearing, Burck said, “I sing and play guitar in my underwear. I’m the Naked Cowboy from New York City. I’ve been coming down here 21 years in a row. I’m not asking for money, I just play the guitar and people take pictures and sometimes they put money in.”
The judge dismissed the panhandling charge. Burck is now able to plead no contest to his charges. He did have to pony up the $223 in court costs.
