Graduation Season Calls for an Unexpected Warning
It’s May. Not only are we in the thick of spring, but there are many graduates prepared to toss their caps in the air to celebrate.
With graduation season upon us, of course there are concerns about partying, drunk driving, and balloons. Yes, balloons.
Those Mylar balloons that are commonly seen at graduation parties are a fire hazard to power lines.
According to Riverside CA, the metallic, shiny material the balloons are made of cause thousands of power outages per year upon simply coming in contact with the power lines.
As seen in the video above, these can be way beyond just simple outages. The mylar balloons cause explosions, power outages and down power lines that can ultimately lead to fires.
